MEET SEAN, OWNER AND DIRECTOR

Sean Power began styling hair over 40 years ago. At age 14, he mastered the art of braiding on his school friends, which in turn secured him a Saturday job at a local salon in Bath, England. From there, he moved to London and worked his way up the ranks at various slick city salons. Both a colourist and a stylist, highlights of his career include precision hair cutting for fashion shoots, working as the art director for a chain of salons, and taking part in numerous prestigious colouring and styling competitions.

THE ORIGINS OF VINTAGE

Hungry for a change of scenery, in 2002, Sean took a chance on Cayman – a place he had never heard of – and accepted a job at the Hyatt Hotel. The gamble paid off, and after working there and at other salons on island for several years, in 2015, he opened his own business, Vintage.

The concept behind Vintage was to create a unique space that would elevate the hairdressing experience for his clients and make a date at the salon an indulgence from start to finish. Drawing on his love of antiques and his uncanny ability for re-purposing the old and the pre-loved, he designed and decorated both salons himself, filling them with antique barber’s chairs, leather Chesterfield sofas and glittering chandeliers to create a decadent, luxurious atmosphere.

Vintage offers treatments and products for both ladies and gentlemen because everyone deserves a little pampering.

Beyond a wash, cut, and blow dry, ladies can change their locks to change their look, with a choice of colouring options that range from highlights and Balayage to full colour. With humidity wreaking havoc on many a mane, Vintage also offers both Keratin and Botox treatments, using Brazilian brand Zuriel’s plant-based Products to leave hair shiny, smooth and easy to style.

Gentlemen too can get their hair cut and coloured, and can also avail themselves of expert barbering services. Whether a beard trim or a Turkish shave, barbering services can be combined with extra treats such as facial scrubs or head and back massages, all using their exclusive Victory products for men.
