THE BACKSTORY

Michael, Jessica, and Emily Tibbetts, the siblings driving the development, have deep roots in Little Cayman. Over the course of three decades, their grandfather, Linton Tibbetts, and their father, Dan Tibbetts, built many of the public buildings on the island, including the museum and the Village Square store, and helped start Cayman Brac Power and Light. They also developed Little Cayman Beach Resort, which has been consistently rated one of the top dive resorts in the world, and later The Club at Little Cayman, a condo resort that was ahead of its time.

MAREA pays homage to their forefathers' pioneering spirit and continues the family tradition of building innovative, next-generation properties that cater to modern families’ needs while ensuring the island’s continued, sustainable development.

THE VILLAS

Designed by Michael Meghoo of MJM Design Studio and constructed by Arch and Godfrey, each villa offers 2,900 square feet of luxurious air-conditioned interior space spread over two floors with deep, covered terraces on both levels. A modern open-plan kitchen fitted with high-spec, energy-efficient appliances flows naturally into the elegant dining and living area. Sliding glass doors from there lead to a covered outdoor kitchen and dining terrace, which is fully screened for seamless indoor-outdoor living and fitted with hurricane screens for peace of mind.

The four bedrooms include two serene masters with ensuite bathrooms – one on each floor to ensure privacy and space for two families – plus a double room and a flexible bunk room or study that share a third full bathroom.

Each villa also features a generous second-floor balcony with superb views of South Hole Sound, a powder room, and an outdoor shower, ideal for rinsing off the sand after a day on the beach.

Optional furniture packages will be available for those looking for a refined, contemporary beach house aesthetic.

THE SERVICES AND AMENITIES

An intimate community, MAREA’s expansive communal pool with a fire pit, hot tub, and a shady pavilion at one end will be both a gathering space for owners and an idyllic spot to slow down and unwind. Each villa will also have an assigned poolside cabana to ensure privacy and extra shade when needed.

Conceived to offer owners complete enjoyment of this idyllic island, electric bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards will be available on-site for exploring on land and on the water. In addition, owners will receive preferential rates on diving and spa services at
the adjacent Little Cayman Beach Resort. A private dock offers the ultimate luxury for boat owners who wish to moor their vessel on-site or those wanting to be picked up for dive or fishing trips.

In order to offer complete convenience to non-resident owners, a property management team is available to manage rental bookings, and a concierge is always on hand to assist with reservations and activities and to pre-order groceries so that the kitchen is stocked on arrival.

MAREA is expected to break ground in the summer of 2023 with an estimated two-year construction schedule. Six units have already been sold. The remaining four are priced from $2.5 million.
