Hailing from a family that specialised in building custom homes for the Houston market, Tracey grew up immersed in the process of designing, building, moving and selling homes.
Given her pedigree, it is not surprising that after attending the University of Florida in Gainesville's Business School, Tracey set out to make her mark on Florida's thriving real estate scene. After starting her career with one of the largest real estate firms in north central Florida, where Tracey earned 'Rookie of the Year' and consistently received 'Top 10% Producer' every year thereafter as well as the honour of being named as 'Top Selling Agent', she hankered for new challenges. What is hot in the Cayman real estate market?
On the heels of the global economic downturn, we have been fortunate to witness a dramatic shift upwards in the local market during the course of the past twelve months. Of particular interest is the rate at which buildable lots have been conveying and subsequently appreciating in value. New home starts in particular have also strengthened substantially island-wide, which bodes very well for the future health of the local real estate market overall.
What is your number one tip for buyers?
Location should always be a purchaser's number one priority when looking to invest. While personal preferences and individual usage are key factors as well, location plays the strongest role in dictating future resale success or failure.
What is your key piece of advice for sellers?
Maximise the power of the Cayman Islands Real Estate Brokers Association (CIREBA) network to your best advantage by retaining the services of a professional real estate firm. A local CIREBA agent is your best possible resource in regards to understanding the market, forecasting sales trends, and deciphering crucial market data – most especially when you are selling from afar.
How do you enjoy spending your spare time?
On any given Sunday you're likely to find my husband, son and me on our boat enjoying the turquoise waters and sandy beaches of Rum Point with family and friends. We are both also avid scuba divers and love to entertain by way of hosting themed dinner parties for our friends.
What five words would you use to sum up life in Cayman?
Relaxed, wholesome, idyllic, tropical and inviting.
