Dragon Bay development in Grand Cayman
The planning application was recently heard for the reparcelisation and excavation plan to reconfigure the former Safe Haven project that will be known as Dragon Bay Resort.
Developer, Michael Ryan, said: “The underlying principal is to create a water based community linked to the existing Ritz-Carlton Resort project through an expanded series of canals surrounding a group of island neighbourhoods”. It is estimated that the project will bring in, in excess of US$2.4 billion in positive economic impact to the islands. Interconnecting community pathways, future planned public spaces and other commercial opportunities for local businesses are part of the master plan. “One of the fundamental elements of this project is to attract local residents to come and enjoy the facilities being created,” said Ryan.
