Cayman Islands Yacht Club
In late 2014, the new and improved Cayman Islands Yacht Club was officially launched with a waterfront restaurant, convenience store and amenity-rich docking facilities. Neighbours are enjoying access to a world-class marina while new residential lot sales offer a few fortunate buyers the opportunity to become part of one of Cayman's longest standing waterfront communities.

Situated along the Seven Mile Beach corridor with direct access to the North Sound, the Cayman Islands Yacht Club (CIYC) had long been a convenient location for sailors and commercial operators to keep their boats. However, for almost a decade after Hurricane Ivan the Cayman Islands Yacht Club remained in a state of neglect. A cursory clean up had enabled it to continue providing dockage for a number of boats, but the funds had not been available to remove the submerged wreckage and the facility remained without fuel or electrical services.
In 2011, however, Dart Realty purchased the Yacht Club and over the course of two years invested millions enhancing the appeal of surrounding lands, making one of Cayman's most sought after neighbourhoods even more attractive.
The refurbishment bears all the hallmarks of Dart Realty’s commitment to environmentally sensitive, sustainable development. Native plants were chosen for the landscaping, recyclable materials were used for the high-tech docks and walkways, and the mooring system was chosen to have minimal impact on the seabed.
The dockage capacity was doubled, with over 150 slips featuring individual water, electricity and pump out systems. The whole facility benefits from the peace of mind of a CCTV security system, the convenience of wireless Internet and Pro Yacht's full service maintenance and management on site.
On land, the foundations for a thriving boating community have been laid with Anchors, a fuel station, convenience store, café and full service bar. Open seven days a week, it is fast becoming a gathering place for locals and visitors to not only pick up provisions and boating essentials, but to relax with a cold drink after a day out on the water.
The recent opening of Morgan’s adds fine dining to the list of amenities. Relocated from Morgan’s Harbour, West Bay, the popular seafood restaurant continues to serve the freshest of local catch along with many of their perennially popular menu items that residents know and love.
Beyond providing leisure boaters and commercial operators with a full range of marine facilities, the revamp is also injecting new life into surrounding waterfront residential communities, including that of the original Yacht Club neighbourhoods, Salt Creek and Vista del Mar. The entire Yacht Club area is becoming increasingly walkable with residents biking and walking to nearby amenities, eventually being able to reach Seven Mile Beach on the multi-use trail Dart Realty is building.
Dart Realty has released a few lots for sale, capturing the attention of buyers who love coastal living, and plans for additional waterfront lots to be released later this year. With the extensive renovations and amenities CIYC has brought to the Yacht Club community, the area is becoming fast one of the most desirable neighbourhoods on island.
