Bahamas Design Challenge UPDATE
World-renowned architect Richard Meier, along with fellow architects and panel judges, Costas Kondyllis and Laurinda Spear, as well as Bahamian resident India Hicks recently chose Will Shepphird of Shepphird Associates in Los Angeles, as the winner of the Young Architects Design Competition. TJ Thompson of Construction Design Services received the T. Alberts Sands Award for best design by a Bahamian architect.
The winning designs displayed high regard for ecological responsibility while incorporating their interpretation of Bahamian Colonial architectural style.
Prospective buyers at Cotton Bay Estates in Eleuthera will be presented the winning designs as possible build options.
