Walls with feel appeal

Imagine a world where everything you touched felt the same. No matter how much colour, shape and pattern we inject into a space, without texture, something is still missing – it is the tactile elements that elevate the interior design from a visual to a full sensory experience.

Hard surfaces dominate in kitchens, bathrooms and hallways, so appealing to the sense of touch is harder. Fortunately, the ever-expanding world of tiles holds the key. Whatever look and feel you would like – rough or glossy, ridged or patterned, stone
or wood – there is a tile for you.

NATURAL STONE LOOK
Get the look of natural stone without the maintenance. As gorgeous as highly polished calcutta marble is and the warm tones of travertine are, natural stone is prone to scratching, staining and pitting – but ceramic tiles that look like slate, marble, limestone or almost any other stone are durable, easy to clean, and look and feel just like the real deal.

WOOD LOOK
Tiles that mimic timber planks have proved an excellent alternative to hardwood floors, but what about warm, wood panelling on your walls? Large format matte porcelain tiles with a subtle grain pattern create the illusion of slatted vertical timber panelling that will lend your bathroom a snug, sauna-like effect.

METALLIC EFFECT
Glass tiles come in shapes, colours and applications that work for everything from backsplashes to swimming pools, but now there is a new generation of metallic glazed glass tiles. These take on the tone of copper, bronze, pewter or steel and make effective feature walls, adding a hint of opulence to small spaces.

RELIEF
Tiles with embossed patterns – geometric forms, undulating waves or nature-inspired foliage – and a matte finish add visual and tactile appeal to a space. Available in large formats for easy installation, these can be matched side-by-side for a delicate, repeating pattern across an entire wall.

FABRIC FEEL
Textile textured tiles combine the softer aesthetic of fabric wall coverings with the strength and durability of man-made tiles. Made to imitate the fine thread and weave of linen, cotton or raw silk, fabric-look tiles are elegant yet tough enough to go where carpet and cloth cannot.
