Barbuda is part of the state of Antigua and Barbuda and is 161 sq km. This smaller island is flat and largely undeveloped apart from a number of resorts and villas. The highest point on this island is Highlands at 38 m. The population in Barbuda is 1,500 most of whom reside in the town of Codrington. Barbuda is 30 miles due north of Antigua and is only regularly accessible from Antigua. Barbuda is home to the Frigate Bird Sanctuary in Codrington Lagoon.
