What is hot in the Cayman real estate market?

Based on current economic conditions the time to buy in the Cayman Islands is now – there are some great opportunities throughout Grand Cayman. Whether it be a gorgeous Seven Mile Beach home, or you want canal-front living with a dock for your boat, or a cosy Cayman cottage – whatever appeals to you, I can find the perfect property. What is your number one tip for buyers? Location! Location! Location! Whether you're a first-time buyer, investor or existing homeowner, you need to understand the best locations for your investment. Purchase a property that will meet your personal needs, but will also have appreciation potential to maximise resale options in the future.

What is your key piece of advice for sellers?

Hire a professional CIREBA agent/broker whom you can trust and who has expertise in the current real estate market. This is no time to be navigating the rough waters of the real estate market on your own. You need a professional who can guide you to price your home accurately, stage your home for showings, bring in potential buyers, handle contracts and negotiations, and market your home successfully to get it sold.

Describe your journey to becoming a broker?

My sales career began with selling fine jewellery for Tiffany & Co. in Dallas, Texas. Consistently exceeding my sales goals, I thrived professionally in my position, and particularly enjoyed working with clients. Appreciating high profile clients’ need for confidentiality and honouring my commitment to exceed expectations held me in good stead for my next career as a realtor, which began in Grand Cayman in 2003 with a large real estate firm. In 2008, a business opportunity presented itself and Azure Realty Limited was launched. Being a broker/co-owner of a real estate company has been challenging, especially in today’s economic climate, but I’m a very positive, competitive person, and I enjoy a challenge. I believe the key to my success has been my integrity.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time on the island?

I enjoy my career so much that you will often find me working. On Sundays though, I like to get out on the water with friends and family on our boat to Rum Point in order take advantage of living in a tropical paradise. The beautiful clear blue ocean, white sandy beach and bright sunny days help me escape from the daily stresses. I also enjoy all fitness activities and outdoor sports.

Use five words to sum up life in Cayman?

Magical, tranquil, refreshing, invigorating and radiant.
