OBMI Predicts Optimistic Future for Caribbean Luxury Hotels
Tim Peck, Chairman at OBMI, discussed the future of luxury hospitality at the first annual Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS) this past February in Miami, Florida.
The presentation titled, "The Future of Luxury Resorts - Can You Still Develop, Invest and Operate at This Level?", in which Peck joined a group of distinctive industry leaders, spoke about the trends expected to shape the industry in the coming years.
As consumers revaluate the meaning of luxury in the face of tougher economic times, the industry is taking a new approach in the design and development of high-end hotels. "Luxury has now become more about choosing authenticity over glamour; the collection of valuable experiences rather than collecting acquisitions," said Peck. The panel concluded that for the sophisticated hotel industry, this trend provides a welcome opportunity to connect with consumers on a deeper, more personal level and appeal to their view of true value and sense of purpose.
