Harris Civil Engineers to Work on Westin, St. John Renovation
U.S. Virgin Islands
As part of a $35 million renovation of The Westin St. John Resort and Villas, Harris Civil Engineers have recently been hired to provide civil engineering design services. The first phase of the project will include a refresh of the beach, pool and the 96 poolside guest rooms, followed by a conversion of 79 existing hotel rooms into 54 luxury villas, which will form part of Starwood's Vacation Ownership Program. Lastly, the final phase will include the construction of 30 two-bedroom villas, six two-bedroom lofts and 18 studio villas, overlooking Great Cruz Bay.
The resort also plans to go green with upgrades to the wastewater system, improved turtle lighting on the beach, as well as the potential installation of solar panels throughout the property.
