'Children of God' to open BIFF

The Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) is delighted to open its sixth annual festival with the directorial debut from Bahamian Kareem Mortimer entitled 'Children of God.' Mortimer, a former BIFF Filmmaker Residency Program participant from 2007, shot the film entirely in The Bahamas last summer. Based on the religious concept that God regards human beings as his children, ‘Children of God’ is the story of two individuals who learn that in order to live a genuinely happy life you have to risk speaking and acting on your true feelings.

A non-profit organisation, BIFF provides unique cultural experiences, educational programmes and forums for exploring the past, present and future of cinema, while being committed to providing the local community and international festival goers with a diverse presentation of films from The Bahamas and around the world. This year’s festival has a Hispanic film spotlight and runs from December 10 – 17.
